Yeap, I'm a DC Comics guy Aside from the disappointment (and slight rage) every DC fan feels for Warner-Bros being slow in making DC Universe movies, I've also recently discovered the Barbara/ Dinah ship from the DC Women Comic Kick Ass tumblr. Too bad it was wiped clean with the DCnU reboot, they make quite a cute couple
It's not totally wiped out, they have an odd kind of trust/love triangle going in the Birds of Prey comic between Dinah, Barbara, and Starling. Plus Dinah is still the one Babs confided in when she had family problems in the Batgirl comic.
Hmm, you make a point there. I guess I can hold out some hope that they'll reach the same point as before Flashpoint. People love their continuity and restarting like that has been difficult for some.
Here's hoping that they do. I'm still annoyed that they haven't touched on Babs as Oracle. September's issue could have been a great place to do that. DC could have done so much better if they'd done a hard reset rather than leaving bits and pieces from before Flashpoint.
Hmm, yeah, I picked up the #0 and they made it look Babs was more busy undergoing recovery than being Oracle. Sigh, the DC editorial is so inscrutable sometimes. They force out great writers like Greg Rucka and Chris Roberson and they pressure the ongoing ones with whatever willy-nilly ideas they want.
I figured that the #0 was a year one issue rather than taking place after the Killing Joke, especially since it ends with the Joker showing up. How much forcing was there with Ruka, I've never heard the story on that just that he's doing a web comic now. Most of the willy-nilly ideas seem to be grabs for more audience and thus more money and nostalgia on the editors parts.
Because you like the characters better than the ones Marvel uses? That's my reasoning.
[link] Greg Rucka wasn't exactly forced out, but the way he was treated as a writer is disrespectful. He's working on the 2nd volume of Stumptown and his prose novels right now.
I guess. I mean, I practically grew up exposed to all things DC, Batman: TAS, JL, JLU, Static Shock, Teen Titans. It's frustrating but I stick with it anyway because they adhere to their fantastical nature rather well (Marvel tries to be too realistic sometimes.) Kinda like the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry
Stupid 'New 52'... slutty Starfire, Trigonic Beast Boy, Tara Markov's return (enough to make anyone rage), the end of Dick Grayson as Batman... Stephenie Brown's short history as the 4th Robin being wiped away... I rant about it yet I've never picked up a DC comic in my life. xD Wikipedia is my friend!
Lol, you may need you pick up the affected books before you rant dude They made a lot of missteps in the New 52 (slutty Starfire, slutty Catwoman, not marketing to women, among other things) but on the flip side, there's been remarkable new stuff coming out like Animal Man & Scott Snyder's Batman, among other things.
It's a mixed bag really. It feels like they're right where they started. As a result, I have this feeling that they don't really know the gold mine they're sitting in. Losing to Marvel in sales and movies is indicative of that ignorance

I sometimes wonder why I'm still a DC fan.
